  1. We know our purpose: to make disciples. We understand our specific mission: to minister to the needy and the youth in Berlin in order to make disciples. We've thought through how to do that. Those who receive our help will hear what they see as we share the good news of Jesus Christ with them in word and in deed, not only showing them that God loves them but telling, them, too. Nineteen adults from our church have agreed to pray for, pay attention to and play a part in the discipleship of a youth who attends Youth Fellowship or "Unchained." But what about us? How do we go about becoming the disciples we have been called to be. Well, if you've been here for any length of time, that's as simple as "A, B, C...C...C" (is there an echo in here?). Tune in this week as Craig Mosher reminds us of the steps we can take to equip ourselves to be disciples who make disciples.

  2. "The Lord is my shepherd..." Most of us can recite Psalm 23 from memory. Its comforting cadence has helped many of us to cope in times of distress or sadness. One of the promises it contains is a refreshing of our souls. That happens as we interact with God and those who follow God alongside of us. It is when we pursue God as His disciples that we are refreshed by Him. If you would have your soul refreshed this day, turn from the world for a moment and pursue the Lord that you may lack nothing as you lie down in green pastures
and are led beside quiet waters.

  3. When we consider the spiritual disciplines, we think of study and meditation, prayer and fasting, solitude and silence. We may not, however, think of suffering. In 1 Peter 2 we are reminded, however, that those who follow after Christ will also follow after Him in His suffering. We will be chastised by the world, threatened and insulted for our faith. But we are not to respond with threats. Instead, we are called, like Christ, to entrust ourselves to him who judges justly. Do not be discouraged if you suffer as a disciple; know that in doing so you are merely walking the trail Jesus, the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls, first trod.
